Founder Janae Bower

I’m thrilled and honored to introduce you to myself and my business Finding IT! Thank you for taking the time to find out who we are and what we have to offer. It was my dream to start a values-based business that would inspire people to reach their highest potential so that they can support others along the way to do the same and then ultimately make a difference in the world.
I am so blessed to be doing what I love and working with those I love to work with! I intentionally created this company in 2002 so that I (and other Finding IT team members) could have the flexibility to prioritize family, work and other life goals. Spending time with my husband, John, and three young sons, Gavin, Grant and Garrett, inspires me in so many ways. My work allows me to keep reaching for my highest potential as I continue to receive new opportunities I could never have dreamed of doing.
Even as a young girl, I have been on a journey to find IT – deeper meaning, joy and passion in life. I’m so grateful to my family whose strong foundation helped me find IT and whose traits I emulate today – my mother is a retired teacher, my father is a retired business owner and my brother is a writer.
Writing allows me to express on paper what I’m feeling in my heart. It is an honor to be considered an award-winning author, receiving an award from the Midwest Independent Publishers Association for my first book, The Little Girl Who Found IT. I have several other books now published and many more books and products in my heart. It is my life-long goal to dedicate a special project to those people who mean the most to me.
My enthusiasm for IT is contagious as an inspirational speaker – sharing IT with whoever is searching for IT. Whether it’s in the traditional classroom or not; to individuals or organizations; on TV or stage; in books or workshops; and the young or old, inspiring others is at the heart of who I am.
As a training consultant, I rely on the strong education I received from the University of St. Thomas for both my undergraduate degree (in public relations and speech communications) and graduate degree (in human resource development). By partnering with most of the major universities in the Twin Cities like St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota, I provide development opportunities for business professionals on a variety of topics like performance management, cultural diversity, and influencing others. I gained expertise in training and development while working internally in organizations for many years as well as working externally with organizations like Best Buy, ING, 3M and Thomson Corporation. It’s these experiences that enable me to provide performance improvement solutions that get measureable results.
